SCANLON'S BREWERY
Scanlon's Brewery, a small one man operation, was founded in 1995 and started production with Spike (4.5% abv) a contract brewed beer produced by the Rebellion Brewery in Marlow. Scanlon's own plant was commissioned in 1996 and fabricated by Mike Askey of the Bitter End Brewery in Cockermouth, Cumbria. The brewery was officially opened by Lord Ashford, better known as Russell Grant, and a special stout (his choice) was brewed to commemorate the occasion, Lord Ashford's Special Reserve (5.0% abv), which remained as a seasonal brew. The brewery plant was sold in 1997 to the Blencowe Brewery at the Exeter Arms in Barrowden, Rutland where it continues to produce excellent beers today. Scanlon's continued producing beers on a contract basis using Rebellion, O'Hanlon's (then in Vauxhall) and Vale at Haddenham until 2000 when the owner decided to opt for more steady employment. The brewery's casks continue to see active service at both Rebellion and the Derby Brewing Company. - PUMP CLIPS - BOTTLE LABELS - KEY RINGS -
